On the 14′th of May 2010, the first of a recurring set of ThoughtMade events was held at Inkonst in Malmö together with TEDxÖresund and experimental nightclub WinWinTotal. With the help of cutting edge interactive installations and internationally acclaimed speakers, ThoughtMade aspires to become a meeting place for innovators of all creeds in the Öresund region.
The event is inspired by Mindshare LA, a Los Angeles innovation party of similar format that has won great acclaim. Inspiration also comes from the MAKE-movement, expected to lead the next great wave of innovation in the US.
“We take hackers and CEO’s, young college students and senior iPhone developers, and we give them a friday afternoon in a laid back environment, surrounded by incredible interactive installations and good music”, says ThoughtMade organizer Jacob Hansson, “we see great things coming out of this”.
Among the speakers was Chris Hughes, MAKE-movement evangelizer and iPhone hacker involved at Syyn Labs, who held one of three short inspirational talks. To spark discussion and ideas, cutting edge-innovations such as the RepRap 3d printer and awe-inspiring interactive installations will be an integral part of the evening. Entrance to the event will be free of charge, but to retain an intimate environment the number of tickets is limited to 300. The age limit is 18 to allow for a full-service bar.
